Worship Teams

Teams that Lead a Worshiping Community

Whenever the church gathers, the goal is to know Jesus better. And he has gifted each person with ways to help make that happen. One way every single person can do this is to follow the direction of Paul in Ephesians 5:19, speaking to each other with songs of praise to God. The goal of our worship teams is to help the church do just that. If you’re a musician or a singer – or you’re not sure, but you think you might be – there’s a place for you on our team. You can learn more about getting involved by contacting Bryan McKaig using the form below.

Worship Philosophy

Our services are designed to help as many people as possible sing in response to what God has revealed in his scriptures and through his Spirit. We look at congregational singing as a first step of active response and obedience to Christ – the initial, visible embodiment of love and worship to him. Our Sunday gatherings usually start with a song, move to a message focused on understanding and internalizing God’s word, and then a longer time of responsive singing.

Teams

Our mission is to make, grow, and unleash disciples of Christ, and that's no less true in our worship teams. Our kids, students, and adult environments all have opportunities to serve in musical worship, and space to grow no matter your skill level or age. Another major way we carry out our mission is by planting new churches. Our worship teams are one of the environments where you can learn leadership skills that can equip you to be part of a new church, sent out to make new disciples and plant new churches.

How Do I Get Involved?

Wondering what it takes to get involved in the worship team? We keep it pretty simple. If you’re already interested, you can include a short video recording of you singing or playing your instrument with the contact form below. Not sure you want to jump in that far yet? No problem. Just reach out and we’ll have a conversation. Our audition process is low pressure – we’ll give you a couple songs to prepare, and then we’ll hang out with two or three people, play and sing through the music, and talk about your personal journey with Jesus.  You don’t have to be a pro-level musician either. Even if you’re just learning, we would love to meet you and find ways to help you grow in your gifts.

Weekly Service Preparation

As a team member, you’ll get an invitation to serve, which you can accept or decline. On weeks when you serve, you’ll get a set of songs with audio and chord charts, as well as the order of the service, early in the week. You can use these resources to prepare and practice on your own, and you can talk to your team leader through the week with any questions or ideas. On Sunday, we’ll rehearse from 7-8:20am and lead the services at 9 and 11am. Not sure if your music gear is up to the task? In many cases, we can provide what you need if not. This is all about participation and creativity for the glory of God and the good of his people!
